School's out...

I am done with grad school for now. So it is time to put my feet up and blog! In two days I have my graduation so we will be hanging out in Texas.

Woo-woo! Mother’s Day is coming up! Shout out to all the great moms and women in the world. I love my mom (hi mom!)

And we are just three, almost two weeks away from a family vacation! We'll also be opening up our pool. Swimming is my favorite thing in the world every summer. I think this will be a summer of fun since I have no classes this summer. Family time is what brings me comfort and joy. What do you have planned for the summer?

I want to work more on my blog. I want to work a little bit outside in our garden. The peas are already coming up like crazy and the strawberries are almost ready! And I think I need more Scrabble in my life. Oh, and pickle juice snow cones!

Picture/snow cone from Jungle Ice here in Oklahoma!

I also want to show you my glitter wall that makes me so happy!

I even have matching shoes!!!

It took 6 pounds of glitter! And a gallon of glue.

We mixed the glitter into the glue and got the best results using a tool that looked like a trowel-shaped paint brush. We found that a regular paint brush caused drips. It was a true labor of love (but worth it!).

I want to share some pics of what I’ve been up to at the library!

For parachute play, we went to outer space and visited all the planets! I had the children put balloons in the middle of the parachute and those were our planets. A big red ball was added as the sun.

During a different story time the little ones made The Very Hungry Caterpillar hats after I read the flannel board version of the story to them!

Here's my table with some props.

This is the parent table near the entrance/exit. I put program flyers, coloring pages related to our theme, books to encourage check out, parent handouts on how to do learning activities at home, and a sign in sheet.

This is my wall of  songs (so parents can sing along with the little ones) and parachute cards.

Mother's Day is coming up and we did a pop-up program where kids could decorate clay flower pots for Mother's Day. Then they added soil and flowers!
It was a HUGE success.
