Awesome blog find!

Dreaming of sleep!

I am typing while listening to the very zexy Anderson Cooper. Our tv dial has been on CNN for about a month now. Never moves, I swear.
My husband and I are political geeks!
Yesterday and today we went through Harrison's toys for stuff to donate. We have to do this routinely because he has too much stuff. So this is his room presently...and yep, this is organized in our world!!!

We tried to play at the park today but it was so windy and there were about 5 pre-teens passing something around (I did not get close enough to see what it was exactly), and cussing up a storm. I mean saying stuff I would NEVER say in front of my child. It was that bad. So Ben said, "Let's go!" He can be so non-confrontational but I was a little tempted to call the local police. It was really too cold to play anyway. We took Harrison out to eat for dinner instead.
I am soooo happy to report my little booger has finally gotten into a good sleep routine. In bed by 8:30pm and awake at 7am. Now I just need to get myself into one.
I feel like part of my problem is that lately this has become "mama's little helper!!"

My photos of the day theme for the week is dream.

My husband's dream is to have a ride on mower. His birthday is March 16. He is getting a new wallet and shirts. So the mower really is a dream!

Weekend stuff (part 2)

Photobucket
Our weekend was not all craziness and drama...
Friday Harrison and I made strawberry cupcakes!
Photobucket
We could not find our muffin tin so they came out squarish but were sooooo tasty!
Then we went to "our park."

The city was there cutting down limbs for previous ice damage.
We took our old bread to the library to feed the ducks.
Their playground is ancient but Harrison is in love with the old metal slide.
Photobucket
And he calls these tree seeds "polka dots."
Photobucket
We went inside and got lots o'books.
Saturday Ben sprayed our grass outside so it will grow pretty.
We went to the zoo much to my chagrin.
I thought this couple was so cute. They were really nice, too.

Photobucket
I love this tree that grows in one of the buildings.

It was the most crowded I have ever seen it. We literally could not walk. Harrison got overheated and refused to drink water. He got frustrated because he could not really get a look at the animals. So we walked to the car with him kicking and screaming (side note: I hate it when people stare or make comments--especially those who do not have children...grrr).
So we ended up back at "our park!!!." It ended up being a very wise decision because there were 5 little girls there and Harrison was the only boy so he got lots of attention and hugs. He had fun!!! He got a little crush on a girl in pink.

love this place

this is my fave pic of ben peeking through the bridge at me!!!

H always gets a pinecone to give to grandma. She keeps them in a vase.
Sunday we went grocery shopping.
Harrison has been on a chicken mcnugget kick. Ugh. We bought some healthier versions at the grocery store so I am keeping my fingers crossed that those appeal to him. If push comes to shove, I may have to play sneaky parent and put them in McDonald's containers!!!!
And then we ended up in the tub!!

Bundle up tight! Flurries tonight...

Photobucket
Guess where we were last night? Yup...in the tub.
Photobucket
(I love how Keely is looking down at Kitson like "there's no room for you!")
Oh, that wacky weather!!!
Ben and I were watching a documentary on the computer. Harrison was soundly asleep. My mom kept calling to warn us about the weather but every time we turned the tv on it just said tornado watch (which means keep alert which really does not mean anything too serious). Then the docu finishes and we start discussing it (it was about the Bible and ancient mysteries). The wailing of the sirens start. Freak out!
Photobucket
(Harrison's mattress serves as our cover over the tub if a tornado strikes).

So we turn on the tv and they say there is a possible tornado about two blocks south of us. So I had to wake up my little sleeping boy. We don't have a tornado shelter so we take cover in the tub. My parents do have a shelter but there was not enough time to get to their house as they live 2 blocks south of us where the possible tornado was!!

(reading a potty book while sitting near the potty)
We fill the tub with blankets, pillows, etc. Harrison thought it was such a good time.
Photobucket
"Yay, mommy we get to read in the tub!!" Ben keeps the tv on and loud so we can hear its direction. Eventually the rotation moves east of us so we are all clear. Whew!
Photobucket
I have not talked to my mom yet this morning to see if any of the winds damaged her yard since she has lots of trees. Luckily, nothing ever touched down here but there were tornadoes elsewhere in the state. Our town streets are flooded. They have tow trucks out now helping people get out of the water!!! So guess what??? Now it is snowing!!! Sometimes I really think we have America's Worst Weather. As a matter of fact, sometimes CNN says it is LOL (they pick a new place every day).

Create

Spring is on its way! I made this flower card using Magic Mesh (12x12 size, cut up) only as the background. It can be placed onto a transparency. Fun card!!!
Photobucket
I also did this paper candy dish class over the weekend (link to free class here:
http://thescrapcity.com/viewtopic.php?t=1926).
I think these would be neat to hold buttons or embellishments!
I used Deja View two-sided paper,a vintage pic, wooden clothespin, black ribbon, and a pearl pin.

Photos of the Day

Saturday, March 1
The theme is still faith.
Photobucket

more from my cross collection

For Sunday, March 2
Photobucket
this cross is over my front door--it has a special prayer blessing those entering/exiting my house
Photobucket
I saved this one for last. It most represents faith to me. It was my grandmother's, and then my mother inherited it. She had it hanging over my bed as I grew up and when I married Ben she lovingly passed it on to me. This means so much to me it makes me cry when I think about it!!!

Hopping Spring Gets Here Soon!!!

Photobucket
I am soooo ready for Spring and Easter!!!
I made 3 cards for a challenge at ScrapCity's weekend crop.
